A collector’s guide to product details

A little preparation helps you compare collectible products with more confidence. Start with the edition and format, then review the configuration for the exact listing.

1. Identify the edition

Check the manufacturer, product name and season or release. Similar names can refer to different years, regional editions or product formats.

2. Compare packaging formats

A pack, box, display and case contain different quantities. The words hobby, blaster, mega, jumbo and collector describe formats that may have different configurations.

3. Read the configuration

Check cards per pack, packs per box and boxes per case when those details are listed. Do not treat promotional images of individual cards as a promise that each card appears in every product.

4. Understand sealed products

Sealed packaging is a product condition, rather than a guarantee of a particular pull. Ask for clarification when the packaging, edition or source information is unclear.

5. Confirm before purchasing
